Hello all,
Since a few days my History tab on account forms show all history. I cannot find the way to go back to the previous behavior: showing only history items related to the opened account.
I've seen old posts speaking of forms cache corruption problem, but clearing the cache didn't solve the problem.
Any idea?

Can some one please help me in migrating BCM 2005 to 2010 in remote

Can directly install BCM 2010 and will that direct import all the
datas from BCM 2005 to 2010????

My BCM back up file got corrupted. So I tried to do a Restore.
Unfortunately, I keep getting an error message. I then to save the data in
Excel and tried to import in to BCM 2010, but still got an error message.
I tried to save the Excel file in CSV file and tried to import into BCM
again but still kept getting an error message. I keep getting the error

Had to reinstall office because of disk failure and when trying to import BCM
says ,ssb not a vailid file type. How do I convert it to *.bcm or something
that BCM can read??

Okay, I've exhausted many self help avenues so hopefully someone here can
help me out. In Outlook 2010 BCM, I've kept it simple. My tabs are
Accounts, business contacts, and leads. In the leads area I've created
custom field entries to suit my needs and also created one user page that
I named "Health Info". This page was created from the ground up and is

Hi, I have Business Contact Manager on two laptops on a home network, in
Office 2010, on Windows 7. I am trying to share the BCM database from one
laptop to the other. Even after enabling sharing, my second laptop will
not find the BCM database on the first laptop. Otherwise, network
connectivity between the two laptops is OK.

Hello,
I have reinstalled my PC with Windows XP SP3. I currently have installed
SQL 5.0 Express, and framework 2.0 necessary for MS Outlook Business
Contact Manager (BCM).
When importing my .bcm file I receive an error. After viewing the log file
I see '"Business Contact Manager for Outlook could not import the Account
"Prospects" because "Unable to create the Account object."'

I recently reinstalled my PC with Windows XP SP3. Installed MS Office 2007
Ultimate + BCM with .net 2.0 framework. All going well so far.
When I tried to import my .bcm file I see get "Some errors have occurred".
Then a window pop up 'Business Contact Manager has encountered a problem
and needs to close. Sry for inconvenience...

Dear all,
I tried to install BCM on outlook 2007, but it doesn't work. The
problem seems to be related to SQL. I followed the instructions in the
on-line guide for BCM, so I tried to boot SQL from the registry, but
it didn't work. Then the guide suggests to copy an event from Event
viewer and attach it here to receive more assistance.
This is the text, I hope that somebody can help me.

I am considering an upgrade to Office 2010 with BCM from Office 2007
with BCM.
Does the 2010 version with BCM have the ability to sync the contacts
with those in Outlook?

I have recently upgraded from BCM 2007 to BCM 2010. In BCM 2007, the
number of items eg contacts or accounts was displayed in the status
bar. I have tried with both the upgraded database and with a clean
install on a Windows 7 x64 with Office 2010 Enterprise, but cannot get
the number of records to display on the status bar (or anywhere else

I have 2 problems with Microsoft Office 2010.
1) When will Microsoft fix BCM so that it no longer converts html bulk
emails to plain text. I know Microsoft is aware of the problem, as
they told me on the phone it would be corrected in the next windows
update. 2 updates have occured. The problem remains.
2) I have mapilab as an outlook plug in. The batch system doesn't work

Hi Guys.
I have a client that is using microsoft exchange, The client uses
Outlook 2007 SP2 with the business contact manager add in. She has her
outlook setup so she can view three other peoples mailboxes.
I had to diable the add on because when the client went to browse the
mailboxs of the other users it would come up with operation has failed
and it was only fixed when I disabled

We have used BCM 2007 with Outlook, very poor experience, unstable and compromise the use of other parts of Outlook.
That was the experience of 4 users, and in summary expensive waste of time.

This is going to sound crazy, and i am not sure why, but recently when
i create a new outlook message i cant see the text unless i change the
default of html view to plain text. If i am responding to an email, i
can see the text in any format. What changed and more importantly how
do i see the text message i am typing when using the html view?

Hello,
I have set up BCM (Outlook 2007, Windows 7), and linked contacts to their
respective e-mail addresses. While current correspondence (since linking)
shows up in history, correspondence made prior to linking do not. Is there
something I need to do to populate the contact histories with communications
made prior to linking?

I no longer can view the history, such as emails and phone logs, for each of
my business contacts. I must have disabled it somehow. Any ideas on how to
bring view business history back?

I scanned (many) business cards into Neatworks then imported to Outlook (reg
contacts.) Everything worked great. But when I exported those same contacts
into BCM, only the name & email address showed up, nothing else.
I have tried Neatwork support who says BCM was a plug in & they don't
support it. So is there a way to get all the contact info in contacts into
BCM?

I'm running Outlook 2007, and just recently added the BCM add-in. Once BCM
was installed, email stopped functioning completely. Through trial and
error, it was determined that there is some conflict with the fact that I
have both my primary profile/email, and then shared access to a second email
account. When we removed the second/shared email, BCM and Outlook email
worked fine.

This is probably very simple but I can't figure it out. How do you get BCM
contacts into "Contacts" on Outlook 2007? My Blackberry will only sync with
contacts, not business contacts.

Microsoft site, but installation fail with a strange error ...request CD1
of Outlook installation because Outlook is missing!!
BCM is a beatifull product, someone know a manner to install on OEM Office

I have just installed BCM and am in the process of linking past emails to
accounts. I would like to be able to look at my inbox and see which
emails have been linked to an account but have been unable to find a
column I can add that will show this. Any ideas?

Situation: I just converted from XP Pro to Win7 Pro (format HD and clean
install). Before installing I copied the Business Contact Manager and
subfolders (MSSmallBusiness.ldf, MSSmallBusiness.mdf)to an external hard
drive.
I copied those files back to
c:\users\<myname>\AppData\Loca\Microsoft\Business Contact Manager.
But Outlook BCM does not recognize these files and I can't use

Where to start?.....
I've just installed office professional 2007 on my PC which previously

Hi guys,
I use BCM 2007 with office 2010 on my personel computer (windows 7)... I exported BCM database.... Then my IT manager import it company server's outlook's BCM (XP server)... But I cannot add or change any record. Error message is : "must declare the scalar variable @ID"... I can still use it on my computer but not on server... Any suggestion... Please....

I bought the office small business upgrade to Office, the fist disk works
fine to upgrade the office on computer but when I put in the second disk with
the package which has the business contact manager for outlook on it I get

My setup: Small Business Server 2003, Windows Vista, Outlook 2010, Windows
Mobile 6.1
Trying to get BCM contacts to synch with Windows Mobile did not work.
Trying to get Exchange public folders to synch required a third party app
(pocket mirror).
Upgrading to Outlook 2010 Beta, Pocket mirror no longer supports and looks
like it has given up on Windows Mobile.

I installed the new BCM 2010 database tool on my small business server
2008. i created a new database and gave permissions to users on a
domain. However i can't access to the database using outlook 2010 and
bcm 2010 on a windows 7 x64 client. I used the option remote database
and inserted the name of my server (in this case ADVDSERVER) but

A colleague created several detailed business notes on a BCM account,
but unfortunately it was done on the wrong account.
Is there a way to 'move' these objects to another account, while
preserving their exisiting created date/time values, or does it come
down to copy & paste for each individual item?

I purchased outlook 2007 with BCM and outlook installed fine, but not BCM.
When i ran the setup agin it tried to install BCM but fails. error: Setup
failed to install business contact manager for outlook 2007. a log file was
created and gives the file location.
The log file text is at the bottom if you want to take a look at it. So i

Office 2007 (disk 1) installs fine. However, BCM 2007 (disk 2) brings up a
message saying the SQL Server 2005 SP3 is required to run BCM on this version
of windows. I press 'Run program' to continue. the message appears again
and I press 'Run program' again. Then an error message saying that SQL

For Outlook you can switch Outlook.pst between two computers by keeping it on
a external harddisk or SD card. But what do I do with BCM to keep it
synchronised? I was not thinking about backing it up, but a more easy way? If
there is any please let me know

I provide services to individuals and families. I have imported all my
contacts into BCM. Is there any way to link a husband and wife so that when
I update, add appointments, or meeting notes to one of them that it will
update both of them?

Hey folks.
When running a report (BCM --> Reports --> Business Contacts --> Buisness
contacts by category), it opens up the reportForm, which says Updating report
content, then that disappears and the toolbar options are enabled, at this
point the RAM usage goes from around 200MB to over 1GB and an error message
appears:

I currently have Office Professional 2010 Plus installed along with BCM 2010.
After 2 weeks of seemingly successful running, my system seems to have been
taken over by BCM with a continued update of Contacts from BCM. When this
synchronization takes place (every 3-5 minutes) the system locks up and the
disk drive thrashes for 6-8 minutes with the message ""updating Contacts".

OK, here's the deal...
I have created several Business Projects in BCM2007, and have linked them to
specific Business Accounts.
Because I do projects for multiple companies, when I access the list of
Business Projects - I would like to see the company to which they are linked.
The logical thing to do would be to add the "Company" field to the columns
of the list - which I did - but

After reformating my disc (Windows 7) I loaded Outlook 2010.
I then tried to link to my old MDF (BCM 2007) file but it wont even
recognise it exists.
Suspect this might be related to changes in the MDF file from 2007.
Any suggestions would really be appreciated?

Somehow someone in our office deleted some projects from bcm.
We have offsite nightly backups but are looking for a way to just restore a
single project(or projects) from the backup copy.
Is there a way to restore a single project from a backup of bcm?
At this point i'm told we can only backup the entire bcm database, not just
the projects that were accidentally deleted.

When in BCM contact under the Detail field there are fieldes that came with
the program (EX:Profession, Manger's NAme etc) is there a way to cahnge that
field name to a name more fitted for your company?
