I have installed BCM 2010 on Windows 7. I have successfully shared my DB and
have full access from my laptop, which is nice. (Like many of you, I am
bewildered by the fact I cannot yet sync my Blackberry, but I digress...)
My problem is the way I am individually transferring records to BCM, and
then marking them for synchronization, is causing duplicate entries to be
created in my
Hi,

I have just spent a very frustrating 20 minutes on the phone with three

Does Outlook 2010 Business Contact Manager have the capability of creating

I've got over a dozen years' worth of contacts and (mainly) notes in

Happy New Year! I (finally) got a new computer with Outlook 2007. I am
reading these posts from years ago hoping by now that the "New Letter to

Ive been searching but no luck finding it.

Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2010 is now available on Technet.
You asked a very interesting question.
I am answering it here, crossposting to microsoft.public.outlook.bcm (where
all we talk about is BCM) and will post a copy on my website as well. That's
why the reply is unusually detailed.
The primary differentiator that really matters to most customers, in my
opinion, is availability of support and Sharepoint integration features, but

We have the RTM of BCM 2010 installed and are using a shared database located
on a SQL server. Up until yesterday the database functioned fine, all users
had no issues with seeing contacts, opportunities, accounts etc. Today, all
users are missing some contacts, and about half of the opportunities. I have
logged into the SQL server using Management Studio and have opened the tables

Running BCM 2010 32-bit, on a 64-bit machine. Has been working just fine,
then a few weeks ago, whenever I try to create something new I get that

and all related connectors, and reinstalling. I even deleted the DBs.
We have recently upgraded our servers to 2008. Small Business Server 2008 with Windows Server 2008 (32) as a member server. The member server is running Sql 2005 Standard and Sql 2008 Standard. Clients are all running Windows 7.
I am currently having issues with a shared BCM 2007 database on this member server. All was working perfectly before the upgrades. I created a new database with BCM

I have made several attempts to create a business contact in BCM with an

Our msdn download says that BCM is included in the version of office 2010

What's going on MSFT?
Is there any standard tricks to speed up bcm?

Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone knew the answers to the items below.
1. Is it possible to share a BCM 2010 database through a web server?
Right now, we have the BCM 2007 db inside a virtual machine and for our two
sales people to use it, they first need to VPN into our network. It would be
much simpler if they could simply hit the db URL over the internet. The same

I recently migrated this database from another machine. The forms that won't
open are customized forms. I imported the customizations after exporting
them from the old machine. Stock forms open fine. The data is there, I can
see the records; just can't open a form. The only difference I can find is a
version mismatch in BCM. The machine I exported the forms from was version
3.00.
I am considering using BCM for our small sales force in the office by
installing the database on a shared server.
Questions:
1. What information can and cannot be shared inside BCM? Opportunities?
Calls/Notes?
2. Does email linking work with a shared BCM?
I have successfully installed Office 2010 -

Can anyone help?
Hi All,
What is honest assesment of BCM 2010 against other collaborative databases
for a 4-5 user situation?
Are there creatures out there that can and do provide initial project
support and implementation, and of course the on going?
Why do I ask?
So many questions in here,so few answers!
Thanks

I am trying to understand the logic of the software before I commit to
categories, as I understand they are dictated in the Outlook portion of the
program.
I would like to be able to have 4 overarching categories: leads, propects,
accounts and business contacts.
If I understand the software, it has opportunites defined as "project
potentials" associated with accounts.

where I look, people are questioning why some update to the release version

how do i transfer my default contacts from Outlook 2007 to business contact

After installing BCM, can I rename the database? I realize that I should have

Do I have to create a new db and then import my information into the the new

I would like to know when Microsoft will release BCM 2010 localized to
