I cannot get BCM to run when I start Outlook 2003. I have been through the postings and tried all of the suggestions but still nothing works. When Outlook starts, I am asked if I want to run BCM. When I indicate yes, I get the message "Database creation has failed." When I click OK, I get the message "Serviceentry: User cancelled." Any other help? Thanks

Hi! I have bad and good news ;-) Bad one: both issues are not fixed (MAPI issue and .NET above v1.1 issue. Good one: unofficial patch is fully compatible with SP-1 ;) Unofficial patch: http://blogs.officezealot.com/gorlach/archives/000858.html BCM Service Pack 1: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=839881 Btw, it was the smallest service pack in last 5 years? ;) 1.5 MB...

I am facing a problem accessing Outlook AdvancedSearch function. The scenario is this : A windows messages (WM_COPYDATA etc) based application uses custom messages to recieve the phone number of an incoming call from a low level application. This then (as part of the windows message handler) on a specific message, invokes the Outlook functionality coded up in a separate DLL, passing

Hi, Has anyone figured out how to share BCM data yet? The notion that this was designed for small companies who don't have a network is rediculous. I consult with the smallest of Non-Profit orgs with tiny budgets and everyone of them has networking. Designers obviously went through a lot of trouble to kill BCM if replication or Exchange is enabled and to restrict it to MSDE.

Hi, To continue the previous topic ;-) This article is posted at: http://blogs.officezealot.com/gorlach/archives/000858.html This patch won't modify registry or any file on your disks. So, you can apply it without any risk. This patch should be compatible with all BCM versions. KNOWN ISSUES 1. Business Contact Manager 2003 (even with all updates available for today) crashes

Tried importing a small ACT 2000 (aka ACT 5) database into Outlook 2003's Business Contact Manager, but... 1. All my custom fields just bulk-imported into the "Comments" section. 2. The Notes/History notes are gone. The "Business Contact History" in BCM contains the "Activities" from Act. If I tell it to "show fields" and select "notes," I get a few random Notes/History from all

Hi everyone, OL 2003 ( unusually ) had a problem starting up, but when it next fired up I got a dialog box saying the BCM add-in had caused a problem and it would be disabled. To re-enable it, and of course that's where I auto-clicked on the OK box. Dagnab it. I thought ( naive fool ) that I might have gotten away with it, but when I looked at a BCM contact every single mail in

HTTPMP is MAPI transport service provider used to access HTTP mail service accounts (commonly Hotmail). HTTPMP could be used with MAPI compatible client applications (such as Microsoft Office Outlook) to send/receive Hotmail messages in much the same way as POP3 transport. Supported features 1. Sending/receiving messages 2. MIME encoded messages 3. HTML, RTF and text formatted message

I have moved to BCM from ACT. I was sort of expecting that when from a Business Contact I created a 'New Appointment with Contact' action then, should I click on this item in the Calendar view that there would be a link back to the contact (double or right-click). Nothing there for me. Is this expected functionality or have i hit a bug. Cheers, John

Hi everyone: I had installed Outlook 2003 on this new XP Procomputer but after importing her old archive and outlook.pst files all that I see is her archive folder from 2 months ago. I get the distinct feeling that we're all test subjects and that BCM is really BetaBCM. I can't even get a single response on this NG or m.p.outlook.contacts to my problem with BCM not importing Act Notes/History fields. Then I read in the post just ahead of mine that you can't manually link e-mails to accounts... I thought BCM would make my life simpler and easier by eliminating a

I hadn't tried that - thanks. Interesting result. It said it was configuring Office Standard Edition, which is what was installed before I bought Pro. It completed OK, but BCM has now disappeared from the Outlook menus. I think I will uninstall Office completely, and reinstall it from scratch. I have 3 machines running XP Pro and Office 2003. All 3 crash 2 or 3 times a day in Outlook 2003. I keep getting the following error when I startup the application. "Microsoft Outlook; Error in registry for Exchange Extensions;?"The sintax format of the registry entry is incorrect. Check the registry settings and compare the registry for this extension to other extensions in the registry. Then the ok button displays. What could be causing this, and what's the solution. Hi all, It looks like its time to do a hard reset on my iPAQ 1940 and I was told to delete the ActiveSync partnership so that it will re-sync with my PDA. I know that I can modify them after I run them, but this doesnt allow me to add any other information. Simply said, I would like my "Opportunity Funnel" report to allow me to add the Company name to the column headings. - Right now as-is, I am limited to these headings: Title,

This is the strangest thing. Outlook 2002 SP3, WORD 2002 is the email editor, HTML is the email format. Composing a new email, and clicking the TO:, CC: or BCC: buttons spawns the Outlook Address Book (OAB) showing only the CONTACTS folder from the local PST file. The OAB displays quickly and is populated with names immediately. However, it is totally unresponsive. You cannot move the
