Hello there:
We have a machine that was reinstalled w/ XP Pro SP3 (parallel install, not
wiped). Install went okay, but after installing Office '03, Outlook opens w/
error 'The operation failed due to a registry or installation problem...'.
Also, when going to create a new email profile, we get error messages that it
can't access the registry, when we click on the buttons (add emaill

Some of our users running Outlook 2010 is missing the Archive option
under FILE-->Mailbox Cleanup. Their mailboxes are enabled for auto
archving. Has anyone expierenced this and what was the resolution.

How can I copy and/or transfer my entire e-mail contact address book from
Windows Mail on my old computer, which uses Windows Vista, to my new
computer, using Microsoft Outlook 2010, and under the Windows 7 format?
Right now I am at a loss.

Hello
We have an irritation with Outlook whereby the setup wizard seems to
randomly (we think) start up. Somtimes it can happen 10 times a day,
other times it doesn't happen all day.
We have not yet identified any trigger, we have had it happen when we
have not had any other ms-office programs open. It sometimes happens
as soon as we log in, but equally it sometimes doesn't trigger

Will Microsoft Outlook 2010 work with Windows Live Mail installed on the
same computer under Windows 7? I am running into problems. I got Windows
Live Mail configured okay, but Microsoft Outlook is giving me problems.

I received this same message, the next time I started Outlook it gave me an option to disable the Live Search Maps, which I did.

I am getting the following Spam report as an email daily...
Subject: Daily report mailbox xxxxx@xxxxxxx.xx folder Spam
Your folder Spam contains 6 new messages.
Messages in this folder will be deleted after 28 days.
I can then see Summery: the From, Subject, and size, but when I go to my
Junk E-mail folder, it is empty.
What do I need to reconfigure?

Used the multiple exchange accounts functionality through the Beta and had 3
accounts (all off of the same Exchange server) configured with no problems.
Now have installed the RTM version of Outlook 2010 and since the limit is
now more than 3 I tried to add a couple more Exchange accounts (test server
and home server) and am having NO success.

Hi,
I am currently using Outlook 2010 with an IMAP account. I have noticed
that emails are removed from my inbox after 14 days automatically.
I have looked in the Advanced tab under the account properties but there
is no where to chang the "Leave a copy of messages on Server" setting.
Any help is much appreciated

I am running Outlook 2007 on a Windows 7 PC.
When I click on the Outlook 2007 Options menu, then on Search Options
on the Preferences tab there are no files listed in the "Index
messages in these files" box. I do not see any way to add a PST file
to that box.
Needless to say, Outlook message indexing is not working. How can I
turn on Outlook indexing on my pst file?

My laptop hard drive died and I had to get a new one. I installed Vista,
then installed Office 2007. When using the wizard to set up Outlook, I
mistakenly put in the wrong email server. When I open Outlook, I get an
error message that says "The connection to microsoft exchange is
unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action."

I have the same problem and are also using Outlook 2007. However I have unticked the checkbox Remove extra line breaks in plain text mesages, but I still experience the problem. Can anybody help me please?

On my old home computer with cable modem link and a home LAN, I ran Office
2003 for several years, but was unable to install it from my old disks when
I bought a new computer. But I was able to install Office 2002 on the new
computer, and ran the old pst files, created on Outlook 2003, with limited

I was having the the issue where the delegate options were all greyed out and I couldn't change them. We are now using Office 2010 and the issue is still there. I played around with it and I have found a solution to change the greyed out options.

When I open a new mail message the window size is always full screen (side to
side, not necessarily top to bottom). I can change the size of the new mail
message, close it and reopen with out closing outlook and it comes back the
size to which it had been set. If I close and reopen outlook the window size
of the new mail message is back to full screen again. How do I fix this?

I have recently wiped and reinstalled Windows XP Home with SP3, fully updated/patched.
I then reinstalled Office 2003, also fully updated.
On my Windows Start menu I notice that there are now two shortcuts to Outlook, whereas before there
was only one.

I've installed Office Professional 2003 on a computer with 4 User
accounts in Windows XP. I installed it from the Owner account and it
appears there, but clicking on Outlook anywhere in the other 3
accounts give a message saying "Cannot start Microsoft Office
Outlook". All other Office programmes work in all 4 User accounts.

I bought a new Microsoft 7 based computer and restored my .pst files to
Office 2007 on it. Now all of my phone numbers are formatted with a +1 in
front of the 10 digit number. I have researched this issue for 3 days and
have not found a solution that works to delete this +1 which I believe is the
country codde.
Does anyone have a fix for this?

I recently bought a new Vista Desktop with an Office 2007 trial software and
used the wizard to configure my email account before migrating my old data.
I have ended up with 2 inboxes:
1 Personal folders inbox which doesn't receive my mail - used to work fine
my old PCl
2. email address folder inbox which does receive my mail.
I cant use junk mail rules on the inbox in the

Is it possible to connect to two different Exchange servers at the same time?
I have different email ids on two Exchange servers. I have two profiles and
can download mails from either one by selecting the correct profile.
Is there anyway I can open both at the same time? If not then is there an
easier way to switch between the profiles without closing Outlook and
starting it again

Hi,
I'm having problems with my Sent Items folders. ( Outlook 2007 and WM6
messaging for all accounts)
My Sent Items folders for all accounts window live( Outlook Connector),
Google(POP3) and Yahoo (IMAP) are showing the sender's name (me) and not the
reciever's name.
So it's difficult to find who I had sent messages before.
How can I set set everything up to show the recievers in

I recently upgraded from Office 2007 to Office 2010.
When I had Outlook 2007, if I read an email, it would not be sent to my
iPhone when I checked for email messages on my iPhone. Now, with Outlook
2010, even though I read an email on Outlook, when I check for messages on
my iPhone it reads the email.
Is there a preference in Outlook I can change to alleviate this?

I opened up my Programs and Features menu thru my Control Panel. I uninstalled the connector for my outlook, it was from Oracle. Once that was done I used my outlook without it. The e-mail account I was setting up stated that I needed the connector, however I found that without it I was able to connect to it. With the connector however I was not able to because of that "beautiful" error message

I can receive e-mail on Outlook but I can't send outgoing e-mail. settings
test shows OK then a protocol error pops up. Can't find the error code that
pops up. 0x80040607. I have run the repair but that didn't help. I have
spent days working on it and can't get it working.

I need to change my outlook exchange provider. Unfortunately, I can
no longer connect to the old provider, but every time I start Outlook
it tries to, and when it fails, won't open the client. I have even
tried holding the <shift> key which sometimes disables certain aspects
of other Microsoft programs.

I downloaded a trial of Office 2010 and while setting up Outlook lost power. Now Outlook is stuck in a loop saying it does not have an internet connection and cannot complete set-up and closes. I un and re-installed but it has held the same place/info/problem. How do I reset the set-up??? HELP!

Hello,
I'm trying to load my gmail inbox into an IMAP session in Outlook in
order to .pst it up and save as an archive. The problem I'm having is
that I can't get it to simply download all the items. It seems to
just want to get headers. I've tried to change the "define send/
receive groups" but it still won't just download everything. The

message, there is about a 20 second delay before they can start typing

I've just brought thousands of contacts in from Outlook 2003 into 2007
contacts. A PST file.
I have 15 different contacts sub folders. My CUSTOMERS sub folder has
900 entries.
I never used the FILE AS field, I just always sorted by COMPANY NAME,
and in Outlook 2003 I was able to choose the contact by COMPANY NAME
in the TO: box.
It seems that the only way I can do this in OL2007

Installing Office 2007 SP1 Ent Vol Lic using OCT. All is working fine except
when a new user/profile opens Outlook first the User Name windows opens and
then goes away. We are not able to close Outlook without using Task Manager
to kill it. Then we open Work or Excel and click OK to the User Name Outlook
will work fine.

I had to re format my hard drive (Boot Sector Virus) and re load XP. Now I
can't load Outlook 98 from my Office 97 disk. I get "Setup was unable to
download all the required componenets for this installation...." I can find
references to this error message but no solution.
What do I have to download to get Outlook 98 working again?
Or do I have to abandon 98 and buy a newer

Since the February 2010 I'm experiencing permanent problems with MS
Outlook 2007 - every 20-30 minutes it stops to work with message
"Cannot display the folder. There is not enough free memory to run
this program. Quit one of more programs, and then try again".
When I tell "stops to work" I mean - Outlook program is actually
running but it cannot do anything - nor receive emails,

Hi,
In outlook 2010 all my addin buttons are coming in Addin Tabs (listed in).
I dont want to always navigate to this tab to use my addins. So would like
to put all my buttons in the "Home" Tab of outlook 2010.
This did not happen in Outlook 2007.

Hi,
I'm trying to configure Outlook Cached Exchange mode for all users who will
get Office 2010 installed. Let me outline the process I'm running through...
Currently the majority of users use Outlook 2007 and cached exchange mode is
disabled.
We will be deploying Office 2010 to machines in stages and wish to enable
cached exchange mode for all users who then use Outlook 2010.
