I am using OE6 with an independant news reader which has worked fine up to now. After recent problems I have unsubscribed to a newsgroup then resubscribed. There are 700000 headers and it takes an age to download them and locks up part way through the downloads. Is there a way to download just the last 31 days (or a portion) of the postings. Thanks aw56001

For no apparent reason my installation of Outlook Express has stopped saving emails Sent in the Sent folder. Is there anything simple I should look for. I don't recall changing in settings and I do have it check in Tools, Options, Send to save a copy of emails sent in the Send Folder. Help would be appreciated. I have never experienced this one before. James

Hello Everyone, I have a small Problem with OE6 in Windows XP and I.E.. I read newsgroups by downloading Headers and then open and read the discussion of interest to me. I usually open the OP then use the Down arrow to open the next one. Lately after I open the OP and click the Down arrow to open the next the same OP will display, going up or down, and when I go back to

But on returning to OE It comes up in "Working Offline". I have gone to OE Tools/Options and don't see any cause for this... Anyone have info on this? gram

My wife and I share an e-mail address but I may have to set up a separate address for her (which would be used infrequently) to satisfy the requirements of a site we each want to register on. If it can be avoided, I don't want to screw around with log-ons, passwords and the like and would like to be passively notified of any mail to the new address, by which I mean I don't want to have

Sometimes I read a newsgroup by threaded and sometimes non-threaded. This toggle is easy by ALT-V-V-G. Although sometimes I read a post in non-threaded and I wish to read the thread. Then I toggle to threaded and now it is hard to find. Using the find for the subject works ok, unless the subject changed in the thread. I also have known if you sort by subject and find the post that

OK... I'm stumped. Hopefully, someone here has some ideas. After many years of no problems, a friend has not been able to send me email via OE6 for about the past month. However: * He is able to send email to others via OE6, and we ran a few tests to others to verify that it wasn't something simple like a corrupted address book * The email messages show up in his Sent Items folder

In my other post I mentioned I recently got a small laptop to use in another part of the house. I thought I set up my accounts OK and can receive mail OK, but can't send. This is just part of the message I get and hope it's enough to help. "Server response 554 5.7.1 Error. The message could not be sent because your e-mail program needs to identify itself to the sending mail server."

Have a fairly new install of XP Pro SP3. As of today I've found that with Outlook Express, I suddenly can't compose new messages in my main identity. I can read and reply to messages, but if I try to compose OE crashes. This doesn't happen with any of the other identities. Don't think I've ever encountered this before. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks
