Hi all,
I am trying to move mailboxes from a Exch2k7 server to another Exch2k7
in a seprate forest. But when I run the move-mailbox command I get an
error that the source mailbox cannot be opened. I had moved the user
accounts using ADMT to the new forest . After Moving I made sure that
the accounts are enabled, not expired & is visible in th Global Address
List . But even when I make sure accounts are enabled, not expired & is
visible in the Global Address List I still get the error that the
source mailbox cannot be opened
After banging my head I had increased the logging level of MS info
store to HIGH , And then I noticed that when I run the move-mailbox
command in exch power shell the target forest exchange administrator
tries to access the system attendant account on the source domain .So
I figured out that to be able to successfully move the mailboxes
across the forest I would have to add the target forest account
(which i am using for migration & the account has exchange server
administrator role) to the source forest exchange server recipient
administrator
But due to active directory security design I cannot easily do so! I
appreciate if some one could guide me on how to add the target forest
account to the source forest exchange server recipient administrator
I have tried add a universal group as a member of the exchange server
administrator role & the universal group to a domain local group in
the target forest . But for some reason I can view the universal
group . I have tried all sorts of group configuration / arrangement
but I always fail somewhere.
Hope someone can lift me out of my nightmare as I have been banging my
head on this for the past 12 hours.
thanks
