external domain names but I won't restore any of the current OS
because I want a completely clean build. What chance do I have of
restoring Exchange? I really don't want to have to push all the

I've got a client with a central office with a SBS 2003 R2 box. This client
also has a remote branch office with 2 users who RWW into their PC's located
at the main office. Mostly, this is working fine, however, if they try to
open a large PDF (5MB +) from a share on the SBS box, this sometimes takes
over 10 minutes to open and occasionally causes the local PC to freeze. Is

I have two companies that are merging and will be keeping separate
domains for now.
One company has a Small Business Server 2003 and the other Small
Business Server 2008.
I will be separating both domains on separate switches as well as WAN
IPs.
The problem I have is that they want to access files on each others
domains.

suddenly stopped. I searched a lot of sites and found some troubleshooting
tips. In short, I used netstat and found that the process "services.exe"
was listening on port 4125.
How can I get services.exe to listen on another port?

I've taken over a server for a new client. SBS 2003. The mail was
always picked up by POP3 connector. That's been working fine for
years. I set up a new domain and added it to the server and used SMTP.
As soon as I switched the new domain to be the "default" on the
recipient policy, the old emails started to disappear. The new domain
emails work just as they should.

I had my companyweb broken too. Needed to reinstall it. I used that command line below and it worked just fine. I don't know if it'll work on your configuration ('cause you seemed to have uninstall sharepoint)

server. Currently the update service has been disabled on all pc's. I
have installed wsus on the server but need to use ether group policy or
batch file, to make sure the service is set to automatic and started.

I had the same issue on a VPS running Win2k3 under virtuozzo. Googling shows RRAS must run on virtuozzo host to make guest OS able to run it.

I have a new customer with an existing SBS 2003 R2 box that has
recently had a degraded Raid 5 (3 disk). . I manged to rebuild the
Raid and it is showing as healthy.
However when the server boots it request a CHKDSK, this gets as far as
step 3 and starts to verify the USN Journal. This lasts a couple of
minutes then reboots and back into the CHKDSK routine and just
repeats.

restarted after the power was restored. Everything seemed to come up
